33 out of 33: a perfect BEPC result at Banana School! 🎉
We are thrilled to share that all 33 Banana School students who sat the BEPC this year passed. Every single one.
The BEPC is the national exam that marks the end of lower secondary school, after nine years of study. It's a milestone many young Malagasy never reach: across Madagascar, only 22% of children complete lower secondary school. On Nosy Komba, our students have just shown what's possible when the door to education is open.
And this year, that door leads further than ever. Banana School has opened its first high school classes, the only ones on the island, so these students can continue their education without leaving home.
Congratulations to all 33 students, and a huge thank you to the Banana School teachers and staff for their dedication throughout the year. Thank you as well to every supporter who keeps the school free for all 561 of its students. This result belongs to all of you. ❤️🙏
