2019 ESTEC Football Tournament
The Sunshine in Nosy Komba team is extremely happy and proud to inform you that once again we have reached our goal, to keep the Nosy Komba schools running and grant free education access to more than 400 kids!
According to the final calculation, with this year's event a total of 23.714€ has been raised. This is an amazing result of several intense months of work of several volunteers to make this event happen.
These funds will allow the association not only to guarantee the main goal to support the salary of 13 school teachers (around 15.6000€) but also to keep improving the quality of life in Nosy Komba, and even to increase the number of local children with access to a good level of education and opportunities.

These funds will allow the association not only to guarantee the main goal to support the salary of 13 school teachers (around 15.6000€) but also to keep improving the quality of life in Nosy Komba, and even to increase the number of local children with access to a good level of education and opportunities.
The remaining funds will be used for the following projects:

Besides the 13 school teachers, support also the salary of the assistants (canteen workers, guardian, school assistants)

Carry out important maintenance works the school buildings (the roof is 10 years old and needs to be renewed in the 6 school buildings including the dorms)

Increase of the school campus and school dorms capacity, to be able to welcome more kids from neighbouring villages next year

Support the local the local health centre & maternity
The Sunshine in Nosy Komba association would like to thank all of you. Without your support and generosity, it would not have been such a great success and result!

The fundraising initiatives will continue with other projects in Nosy Komba such as: the support to sustainable economic development (namely the local business incubation, reforestation projects, and support the creation of a local cooperative for fishing and vanilla farming); the renew and expansion of the clean water network; and the health care fund for emergency surgeries.

How to help?
A global development project is being carried out since 1992 in the island of Nosy Komba (in Madagascar, one of the poorest countries in the world). This project follows an approach aiming at the empowerment of the local population and has already built a school campus (3 schools, canteen and dormitory), medical centre, electricity and water networks and it is stimulating the sustainable development of the local economy (community sustainable farming and fishing, reforestation and incubation of local business such as sewing, chocolate and tooth paste production, local production of septic tanks and toilets, etc.).
Sunshine in Nosy Komba is a Dutch Stichting, initiated in 2011 by ESTEC employees to support Nosy Komba with projects on: Education, Health Care and Sustainable development. For the last 6 years, our team is granting access to education to more than 400 children with the funds raised through this tournament.
