✨ New Maternity Centre in Antamotamo: First Baby born✨

Last summer, we proudly opened a new maternity clinic in Antamotamo, a village near Antananarivo and close to our school in Nosy Komba. This marked an important step in extending essential healthcare services to neighboring communities, much like we’ve done through our education and book-sharing projects.

We’re thrilled to share that the first baby was safely delivered at the new clinic on February 26t! 🍼🎉 Both mother and baby are doing well, and this beautiful milestone highlights the life-changing impact of this new facility.

While Jessica has been on maternity leave, Marie France has stepped in as midwife, delivering our first little arrival and doing an incredible job. Jessica has been back with us since April, and we welcomed her back to the team!

Exciting News from Ecole Banana on the school building Project   

Last year, we laid the foundation for an important objective—expanding our school to welcome even more young minds. That objective is continuing in 2025 as part of a multi-year project.

Construction is in full swing, and the energy is incredible—the entire village is coming together to make it happen. From classrooms to science labs, more dormitories and hygiene facilities all using sustainable energy.

This project is shaping up to boost education for more students in the community.  

🌱 From a Local School to a Regional Support Structure 🌍

This year, our very own Ecole Banana in Antintorona was chosen as the exam center for the official BEPC Blanc (practice exam for the national middle school exam). And guess who supervised the exams? Our Nosy Komba teachers! 💪📚

This is a milestone moment. It reflects years of hard work, excellent results, and a growing reputation across the region. Sunshine in Nosy Komba is becoming more than a school — we’re becoming a regional reference for quality education.
